shocks and struts

Service Overview
Bumpy ride? Have your vehicle's suspension checked by our expert Fishkill Tire technicians. Comfortable and safe rides are guaranteed with regular suspension checks and repairs for your car or truck, ensuring that all four tires maintain constant contact with the ground.
There are three main components to your vehicle's suspension system: shocks, struts, and coil springs. Shocks offer a specific amount of resistance with each bounce up or down your car faces and can wear out before 25,000 miles, depending on road conditions. Struts control suspension and spring mechanisms that maintain tire contact with the road, and typically last longer. Coil springs work in conjunction with shocks and struts to minimize vehicle bounce, and weaken slowly over time.
How can I tell when I
need the service?
Bad suspension is easy to spot. If you and your passengers experience an uncomfortable, bouncy ride with a marked loss of control or swerving when stopping suddenly or changing lanes, or if your car sags or bottoms out in the front or rear, bring your car or truck to Fishkill Tire for our free inspection and road test. We’ll help identify whether you need new shocks, struts, or other suspension service.
Most shock manufacturers recommend an annual check-up. While struts and coil springs take longer to replace, they do weaken over time, so it's always a good idea to have them looked at about once a year.
