wheel alignment

Service Overview

If you find your tires wearing quickly and irregular, your wheel alignment may be to blame. What's more, in addition to hundreds of dollars wasted on more tire replacements and suspension maintenance, wheel misalignment can cause difficult steering on the road, creating unsafe driving conditions and decreasing fuel efficiency.

To save tires and gas, and stay safe on the road, we recommend an alignment check for your vehicle every 6 months or 6,000 miles. Our master Fishkill Tire technicians use the most advanced computerized alignment systems available to ensure precise angle accuracy for your car or truck, including the following diagnostic angles:

·         Camber (viewed from in front of your car): the tilt of the wheels toward or away from each other.

·         Caster (Visualize a vertical line through the middle of your tire while standing on one side of the car): The angle of the steering axis in relation to the wheel.

·         Toe (viewed from above the car): the direction of the wheels towards or away from each other.

How can I tell when I need the service?

You may need our wheel alignment service if your tires wear out quickly and irregularly on one particular side. Here are two quick steps that can indicate the need for a Wheel Alignment service appointment with us:

1.       Properly inflate your tires and take your car for a test drive. While lightly resting your hands on the steering wheel but without steering, see if your car drifts to one side. If it does, you wheel alignment is off.

2.       Check the tire tread on all four tires. If you find that your tires are overly worn on one side compared to the other, your alignment may be off.
